The interview process included a 90-minute orientation session and question period led by the program director and chief residents.  Two interviews (each thirty minutes in duration) will be conducted: one by a senior resident in our program and one by a faculty member who is intimately involved in medical education.  Residents in the program will also be available to provide tours of the facilities and to answer further questions.

Selection Criteria
The ranking and selection of residents is based on academic and clinical performance, letters of reference and personal interviews.  It is strongly recommended that at least one letter of reference be from a general internist and/or medical subspecialist.  Equal consideration is given to external candidates and those from the University of Calgary.  We are most interested in recruiting individuals who will thrive in our program and who, in turn, will enrich our environment.  Unfortunately it is impossible for us to offer interviews to all the applicants due to personnel constraints.  However we make every effort to interview candidates who are sincerely hoping to train in Calgary.
