Message from Dr. C. Maria Bacchus

In this issue of the newsletter, we celebrate the achievements of the Department of Medicine (DOM), from its inception in 1965 to the present. As we thank Dr. John Conly for his contributions to the Department, we also recognize the role of the six prior Department Heads and their achievements.

You will also learn about the new Residency Program in Dermatology, the first new accredited Dermatology Residency Program since 1988. In addition, we are proud to acknowledge the many award winners and mentors in our Department, who have played a key role in our success.

I am honoured to serve as the Interim Joint Department Head as we manage the transition from Dr. John Conly to our next Department Head. I will be working with members to support their strategic priorities and to ensure the process is as seamless as possible. The Administrative and DOM Leadership teams will do their best to manage the 'business' of transition until the new Department Head is in place.
