New Appointments
Please welcome the following staff members to their new roles.
Dr. Ralf Paschke - New Zone Clinical Section Chief, Endocrinology
Dr. Ralf Paschke has joined the Department of Medicine and Cumming School of Medicine as a Professor, and the new Zone Clinical Section Chief of Endocrinology & Metabolism. Dr. Paschke spent 4 years as a Heisenberg Professor in the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research at the Universite Libre in Belgium, and an appointed Professor of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at the University of Leipzig in Germany. He served another 9 years at the University of Leipzig as the Director of Medical Department III with the Sections of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nephrology; as well as the Coordinator for Endocrine Research and Deputy Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Clinical Research. Dr. Paschke's major research interests include thyroid cancer, thyroid nodules, molecular FNA diagnostics, the TSH-receptor, and diseases caused by TSH-receptor mutations. He is the author of more than 260 original publications, co-author of several thyroid guidelines and serves on the editorial boards of several journals including Thyroid, and the JCEM. Erin Layton - New Internal Medicine Residency Program Administrator
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Erin Layton as a new Program Administrator for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Prior to this, Erin was the Program Analyst in the Medical Education Office. Please join us in welcoming Erin to her new role.
