The Future of Medical Grand Rounds

Beginning in the 2015-16 academic year onward, the Distinguished Lecture Series shall replace Medical Grand Rounds for the Department of Medicine. Medical Grand Rounds (MGR) was an accredited group learning activity defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In recent years Medical Grand Rounds attendance has dwindled owing to competing educational activities despite effort at revitalization.

Aligning with the University’s strategic direction, we pride ourselves on innovative learning and teaching. By being forward thinking and adaptable we will engage and inspire our Department by attracting exceptional leaders in health care, education and research from around the globe.

Speakers of different backgrounds and skillsets will be invited to speak, with the aim of benefitting a diverse group of physicians across the varying disciplines that make up the Department of Medicine.

We hope to have our first Lecture this coming October 2015.
