NEW IMRP ASSOCIATE PROGRAM DIRECTOR – DR. C. MARIA BACCHUS

Dr. C. Maria BacchusThe Department of Medicine and the IMRP are pleased to announce that Dr. C. Maria Bacchus will be taking on the role of Associate Program Director for IMRP as of November 1, 2021. In this new role, Dr. Bacchus will take on operational leadership and oversight of the IMRP Resident schedule, and will Chair the MTU Subcommittee meetings and provide support to the MTU Site Leads.

Dr. C. Maria Bacchus is an Associate Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine. Her interests are in educational assessment and strategic planning. She is presently the Executive Director of the Alberta International Medical Graduate (AIMG) Program, the UofC Medical Director for Physician Support Services, and the Assessment Lead for the Royal College International/Kuwaiti collaborative. Her past educational roles include Chair of the Examination Committee for the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), Chair of the RCPSC Internal Medicine Examination Board, and Program Director for the Core Internal Medicine Training Program at the University Health Network, University of Toronto. In the latter two roles, she gained experience with scheduling residents for certification exams and residency.
